Laptops sony vaio vpceb16fg - no output on hdtv

Hey i have a sony vaio vpceb16fg laptop and i tried connecting it to my hdtv but my tv is not getting detected on my laptop... any help guys...
 
Check for the following three things:
  1. Check connecting to the HDTV using another HDMI cable. This is assuming that you are using already using an HDMI cable.
  2. Check if the latest display driver set is running on the laptop. In some cases, the HDMI functionality of the laptop is only exposed after installing an additional HDMI driver (besides the regular display drivers).
  3. Use a D-SUB VGA cable and connect the laptop to the HDTV using the cable. For transmitting audio signals, use a 3.5 inch pin for the laptop side (connect it to the Headset jack) and an HDTV compatible connector at the other end (depending on your HDTV model)
