Big screen, Dual-SIM and quad-core processor are the major specs required for smartphone to be successful in Indian market, and Sony has launched a smartphone with all these in the form of Xperia C which is now up for pre-order at Rs 20490 in India and expected to be available from 2nd week of October.

The Xperia C is a Dual-SIM smartphone featuring a 5inch TFT display with qHD ( 960x540 resolution ). It is powered by 1.2GHz Mediatek MTK6589 quad-core Cortex A7 processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB storage expandable via microSD card slot.

It has a 8MP rear snapper with Exmor R sensor, Autofocus + LED flash and VGA front facing camera. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The battery is 2330mAh capacity.

The Xperia C comes in White, Black and Purple colors and looks quite similar to the Xperia ZR. It will compete with the likes of Galaxy Grand and Micromax Canvas 4 in the market.

It is currently available for pre-order on Flipkart at Rs 20,490, and comes with free Sony headphones.

Looks like a competitor to micromax and lava. My advice to folks - stay away - mediatek chipset phones suck.

Talking from experience mediatek is crap .their quad cores will not be able to hold a candle to snapdragon dual core and exynos too .

To be honest they've be competing pretty well at the low-mid end. Not just in terms of perf but more importantly perf per watt & perf per mm squared

If it doesn't have the weird emulated storage thing, it will be a good buy. After suffering at the hands of Xolo with their Q700 (lying at their service center after 10 days of usage), I would recommend people not to go for phones which don't have a real service center in your city. Don't count the software service centers as service centers. They are just collection centers.

Thanks man . I was about to buy the xolo q700 . With my bad experience with chinese rebrands (micromax a110 packed up twice in a year ) I'd better stick to my s3 and nokia c7 :D
