Sony has finally launched their entry level 2013 Xperia smartphones in India. Dubbed the Xperia E and it's dual sim brother, Xperia E Dual, both smartphones are a mixture of 2012's Xperia Tipo and Miro, combining features of both while adding more goodies such as a cheaper price tag (than Miro), Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a large display (same as Miro) as well as a dual SIM version.
Sony Xperia E & E Dual

The Xperia E and E Dual are identical smartphones. Donning a 3.5 inch HVGA display and 3 touch screen capacitive buttons (much like the Miro), the only difference between the two smartphones is the inclusion of a Dual SIM slot in the latter. The phones pack 3.2 MP cameras, which is a disappointment. We were hoping for the 5 MP one. Gone is the front facing camera, which isn't that essential a feature in the entry level market.

A 1530 mAh battery will go a long way in battery life for these low power guzzling smartphones. While Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on board, don't go looking for features from the higher end Xperia range as they are simply not present. Nonetheless, it's good to see a relatively newer OS on-board. Overall, a good value for money budget smartphone launch by Sony.
