Sony has just announced the Sony Xperia E. Successor to the recently (not so long ago) launched Xperia Tipo and Tipo dual, the Xperia E is the company's first smartphone to feature Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. And no, this isn't any flagship or anywhere close to being one, but a lowly entry level smartphone with an HVGA display, an ancient Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A chipset based on the even more ancient ARM Cortex A5 architecture (and equally ancient Adreno 200 GPU). And this smartphone is the company's first Jelly Bean packing droid. Yes! It's hard to believe! Read on.
Sony is launching 2 products here (to replace 2 of them), the Xperia E and Xperia E dual. Both pack almost similar specifications (save for dual sim on the latter). Let's see what the makers of the Bond phone have in store for us.
Sony Xperia E & E Dual Full Specifications
Overall, the smartphone packs decent mid-range specifications that are close to the previously launched Xperia Miro (earlier this year). Instead of providing the Jelly Bean update to the Xperia Miro and Tipo, Sony simply made a new hybrid smartphone with features from both and threw in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for good!
Now all that matters is the pricing. Price it right and this phone can sell well. Else, we will just have another phone that will be ignored by the market.
