Sony announced Xperia J in August at IFA inBerlin. Now the smartphone is up for pre-orders with Flipkart for Rs 16,490.
The Xperia J was announced along with Xperia T and Xperia V. While the Xperia T and Xperia V were high-end offerings, Xperia J is the more affordable offering.
The Xperia J packs design similar to the Arc S and has curved back with 9.2mm thickness. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and comes with 1GHz Cortex A-5 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 512MB RAM.
The Display is 4 inch with 854x480 pixels resolution and gorilla glass. It has 5MP camera with Autofocus and LED flash , there is front facing VGA camera as well.
Key Specs
The phone is a good buy for that price, the only disadvantage being the less powerful Cortex A5 based processor and Adreno 200 GPU. The Xperia U is priced in the same range and has powerful dual-core SoC but it lacks expandable storage and has smaller 3.5 inch screen. So, if someone is looking for a bigger screen phone with expandable storage, the Xperia J seems to be a good buy.
