Hey guys,
I have an E6600(got it from sangram) and running it on a
Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L.

The system was running fine for a week, but now all of a sudden it shuts down immidiately on startup.
The CPU goes off in 5/10 secs.
CPU temps are fine. Dont think its a heating issue.

I tested it with another SMPS, It still dint work :(

I removed all components, Running only with CPU+MOBO+PSU
Still doest work.

Narrowed down to two issues,
1.The CPU fan sensor might have gone bad which might cause the system to shut down.

2.Mobo issue.(Something might shorting the mobo causing it to shut down or may be somethings gone wrong with it)

I am planning to RMA the mobo.

Just wanted to know if anyone has faced a similar issue and can help me out.
One more thing.. the last time it worked.. windows was forcefully shutdown, never got it to work after that.
SOS

Have you tried resetting the CMOS?

This sounds like a mobo issue - try plugging any other 3-pin fan into the CPU fan header, and relocate the memory to slot 2&4 instead of the first two slots.
