SPDIF with multichannel audio setup

Thx guys.. let me try this on KM Player today.
i used Power DVD 8 with SPDIF out settings. but there is only SPDIF out settings in speakers settings. it wont let me configure DTS or anything else while using SPDIF. let me try this today with KM Player and will let you know.

btw y'day i tried GOMplayer. its nice and it ask video and audio mode while starting. i did select SPDIF mode but still it was 2 speakers only..... :(

one basic question - when i configure my control panel in vista for SPDIF its in two speakers mode. cant change that... so is that the reason of just 2 speakers working ? i know when using SPDIF decoding is done at speakers level but if OS itself send only two channel audio then ???

and in the output tab select the output as SPDIF output after realtime AC3 Decoding.




Also disable creative's internal decoder to allow it the sound card to give to bitstream(digital) output...

It would do away the need for purchasing dedicated sound card which can do real time AC3 encoding atleast for movies/music with 2 channel audio...

Did any guys with z5500's try it out :huh: ... its like getting real time ac3 encoding for movies/music for FREE !! without purchasing any dedicated hardware and quality wise also it should be up there too...
