Speaker Dilemma: Wharfedale or Dali (Budget concerns)

I recently acquired Yamaha Rx V 863. Now I have 2 options:

Option 1: Purchase a pair of Wharf 10.1 every month to build a 7 channel solution. (I have an old 7.1 channel speaker system from my gigaworks S750 which I will phase out gradually).

Option 2: I always wanted to buy Dali Ikon 6 based 7.1 channel system. So can I buy a pair of Dali Ikon bookshelfs (suggest which one) every month (for rear and surround channels) and use them as fronts till the time I save up to buy Dali Ikon 6 FS and center channel.

Please guide. Preference is SQ.

Also please guide about pricing of these individual components. I am based in Delhi/NCR

Get the wharfedales. The Dalis need a bit more power and refinement to sound right. Yamaha AVRs are incredibly bright at the top so pairing a forward sounding Dali doesn't make sense.

which avr do u recommend for the Dalis?

I'd not recommend an AVR at all. I'd probably recommend a Preamp Processor-Power Amp setup.

There are lots of them. Even Yamaha has them too. Emotivas are amazing vfm. Highly recommended.

Can I use 863 as a preamp with Emotiva power amp? (Major use is blu ray movie playback but at the same time I want a faithful audio reproduction)

You can if your AVR has preamplifier outs

Yes it does has a 7.2 channel pre out. Which model(s) from emotiva you suggest. I'll get them imported.
