PC Peripherals speaker positioning

need some help with my spks....been using my 5500's in 2.1 mode for quite some time now.....
i was thinking of placing the front n center on shelfs 1 feet behind my comp...say 5-6 feet from the ground....
n the rear spks to the left n right of where i sit,at a height of 6-7 feet...what say??..the sub is below the desk of my 2nd pc, near a corner..
 
wont the sound be better with the speakers at about ear level high ? or are the logitechs too loud ?

any thoughts of wall mounting the speakers ?
 
The speakers shud be either at ear level or below it for best quality. A distance of around 2-3 ft is recommended between the center and the fronts left/right. Keep the rears atleast 2-3 ft behind you. Also keep the sub in the corner of the room for best response. However i doubt if thats necessary with the monster of a sub that logitech provides :P
