Speaker requirement for listening to Classic Rock

I'm looking for speaker suggestion for using in my hostel room. I want to listen to classic trance, watch some movies/TV series with clarity of dialogues.

I don't intend to buy a 2.1 as space in a small room is precious and I really don't like the bass that much. My concern is the sound clarity and it should be audible.

I'm really looking at a 2.0 but my budget is not high, moreover I intend to use them for 1 year only.

My budget is 2k or 3k MAX

I've looked at many options like Edifier R600, MP210, Sonicgear Uforia3, Lenovo S560. If you have information about these speakers, Kindly share it.

Or if you can suggest something better, I'd really appreciate the effort.
 
Just got the altec Lansing vs2621.

Short review is that it's very goof for the 2 k I paid.nice crisp sound ,isn't ad bass heavy as it's brother the vs4121( which also I own )

I think it's the best in 2 k range
 
^^^ do u know the current market price ? Its available for 1711 on flipkart ? b/w is it better than logitech z313 which is available for ~1.5K

I would say take it for 1711!! Can't comment whether it's better because havent heard the z313
 
Cheapest I found is 1800 on eBay.

To the op- If you can find a shop selling vs4121.take that,one of the best I have heard,cost abt 2.8 k to 3k
