Sup guys???

My birthday is coming so its time to pamper myself. So my parents have given me 1.3lcs to spend. So I have two options in my mind.

1>Get a bike under 100k like a pulsar 200ns and get a LED panel for the rest as i am a kind of a person who likes to watch movies on weekends.I am a bit on a fattier
side.So I am worrying that will a pulsar 200ns suit me?

2>Get a bike like R15 or cBR150R.Actually i visited a Yamaha showroom and tried R15 and kinda like it very much.

So,which is a more wise decision to go for?
My daily run in weekdays is about 5kms and in weekends about 20kms.
And if you advise for going a higher end bike please suggest which bike should i go for honda or yamaha?
Thanks

You travel only that many km and want a motorbike for that? Wouldn't a bicycle suit better for just 5km daily travel?

You can spend the money saved on other awesome stuff you can use at home.

Yeah you're right logically but all of friends have a bike and they travel the same distance. And as I mentioned earlier I am on the heavier side so it will look odd to ride a bicycle. And yes I do know the fact that riding a bicycle is beneficial for me but still.I hope you understand my situation and not discuss about it any further. So between those options which one is according to you is more wise. Thanks once again.

You are heavier side and will look odd in a cycle but u want a R15 or CBR150? :S.

how about a Classic 350 Or standard 350?

Even if you are decided on getting a motorbike, I wouldn't recommend one which is priced 1L+.

It would be better to go for the lighter and fuel-efficient variants. Riding 5-20km, believe me, it won't matter at all. A Honda Twister would be more satisfying than lugging around an expensive bike, unless you also want to own it for the "image" it brings. Then go ahead and buy whichever bike pleases you; your options: Yamaha R15, Royal Enfield 350cc variants, CBR150R, Bajaj Avenger, Pulsar 200NS, Duke 200 (if you add a little more)

P.S. I own a Royal Enfield Classic 500 and hardly use it at all. Only if I'm going 30km+ one way trip will I even consider taking it out.

My suggestion: buy a good bicycle AND a smaller capacity motorcycle, protection gear, and use the rest for your home entertainment/personal needs.

Heck, even put some in a fixed deposit bank account.

it depends a lot on your traveling needs.
  • do you live in a big city?if yes, then moving around in the fully faired bikes is hectic and moreover heats the engine.
  • do you tour or plan to tour?if yes, then get the bikes as R15 or CBR150r for open roads.
  • if you travel much within city limits and do less touring,go for the NS200
  • if you think you want more power but in city limits and less touring,go for the duke 200
  • if you like it slow and show it out,get the classic350
  • and finally,if you just want 2 wheels with a motor, then get the more efficient below 150cc bikes and save the rest

PS:these are my personal takes on the bikes.

If your travel is only that much, and you are not an 2 wheeler enthusiast, just get a Yamaha Ray Z, believe me , in-city travel is so much more bearable with an automatic scooter.
If you get a bike, get one that is appropriate for your skill level (and don't kid yourself on how good you are) any bike above the commuter class will have its own characteristics and you will need to respect it. And get some good gear along with it (at least a good helmet).

Set up a home gym -- workout seriously for 6 months, develop a ripped physique and flaunt it at every given opportunity.

And if you have seriously made up your mind for a bike, visit showrooms, give test rides, select the one which suits you and your personality and get some good gears along with.

Did you test drive/consider Royal Enfield?
Personally I think R15 looks more like what college students should be using...you know the ones who've just graduated from liking some superbike cartoon :p
