For reference, iGyaan Karbonn A9 Review (below)

Is techpowerup your site? You seem to be hotlinking images from your own site.

Main point keeping me away from these companies is their quality. Seen lot of negative feedbacks on FK and other sites.
How good is the after sales from this company? I'm sure many have bought from Spice and might have faced some problem. Are their service centers good or bad?

The tile of the thread says Spice Mi-425 | 1Ghz | 4" screen | 2000mAh battery | Android 4.0 ICS - Launch 6th June.
But actually it is not running on ICS out of the box.
So I would ask comp@ddict to change the thread title accordingly.

Edit 2 : Thanks @Sanav3.

@6pack, I'm using Spice MI-410 since last 1 year and I can say the A.S.S of Spice is fair enough if not good and I accept that the products are not so superior in quality. If someone can afford buying the reputed manufacturer then I'd not suggest them Spice, Micromax or Karbonn. In one word, they are all cheap (quality wise)

my frnd is spice city dis and i seen that mobile in personally looks is awesome and also camera is good but i feel that cpu and rom is not enough for all high end needs of one :) Screen is also awesome.. but i want to w8 for a months..

@6pack - no, TPU isn't my site. They have a free image-hosting service
@YKW - I'm not being able to change it. How do I? Anyways, it's slated to receive the upgrade, need to add upgrade word somehow.

UPDATED the post with Video Reviews of the Karbonn A9 and Spice Mi-425. Now I'll indulge myself with them.

1. CPU is fairly strong, as you can see for yourself, the interface is run very smoothly on the non-GPU accelerated Android 2.3.6 (gingerbread). iGyaan mentioned that browsing and Kinetic Scrolling was among the best they had ever seen.

2. GPU is the Adreno 200 Enhanced, which is about 25% slower than the GPU in Xperia U/P and Sola. By any means, that is fair, especially seeing this is the strongest GPU in this price range. Nothing comes closer (Except the old Spice Mi 410, which had an Adreno 205)

3. Camera, according to the 1st review I posted, is actually decent. Nothing great, but decent enough for casual clicks.

4. iGyaan specifically mentioned how amazing the sound output is, with youtube video sound playing crisp and very loud.

5. Display is average. Good, but nothing great. The viewing angles are not that great (I'm guessing >150 degrees it's bad).

If the screen size isnt an issue then its better to wait out for the spice's next big phone.
The Spice Stellar Horizon has a Qualcomm dual core 1GHz SoC. Hoping that its the MSM8260. That would then make it the phone with the most powerful SoC in the sub 20k segment.
If one is cool with a 5" screen (mostly WVGA) then at just 2k more that's a steal.

bit OT but 1" screen size increase between MI-425 (2000mAH) and MI-500 (2150mAH) and battery increase only 150mAH and being a dual core MI-500 (Horizon) is going to Suck battery like anything :(

Another thing to note is that 800X480 on a 5" display would look terrible!

yeah very very low ppi. But probably better than having a 3.5" HVGA screen :P

Anyways, I'm still hoping for custom roms. As that could turn the tide on whether to buy this piece or not

Krait is a costly SOC given the high cost related to 28nm manufacturing. I don't think krait SOC will come under 20k at least till 2012.

I said MSM8260 which is the snapdragon S3 with Adreno 220 thats found in the HTC sensation. MSM8260A is the Krait.
Even the S3 is still powerful and none of the sub 20k phones have them. It beats the Ericsson U8500.

Its not that bad. WVGA on 5" works out to 187ppi.
The likes of HTC explorer which has a 3.2" HVGA has 180 ppi and iPhone 3GS had a 3.5" HVGA which is 165ppi. Its not as bad as it sounds. WVGA was considering almost top of the line just a year or so back. We have been spoiled be all these HD displays :P

sorry to let you know guys, but no dual-core from qualcomm supports dual-sim, only msm7227/ arm v6 & /a arm v7 supports, which are not at par, also i highly doubt if its a broadcomm dual core with power vr530/35 which is on most china phones, but i cant be sure , just adding my opinion

also the 512mb. is not good, seeing its gonna updated to ics & got a dual core may be qualcomm/broadcomm, as games & other stuff will strugle for performance due to lacking ram, same issues can be seen with optimus 2x & xperia play (sony not updating it to ics because games wont works well on ics + 512MB. ram) & you can also check playing mass effect inifilator on ics + on gb. & see the difference, it will crash after some time on bonus levels (the culprit is low ram)
,gonna buy it if it got 1GB. ram

+ no complain for wvga, we can use lower dpi as it got bigger screen,

m' gonna pay upto 17k if it got real s3/s4 qualcomm soc + 1GB. ram

Source

I'd to know how true is this? are there really no Dual cores which support Dual Sim???
