^^^ABCD keypad you mean the Qwerty right or do they really have an ABCD keypad...
no they have also released a phone with ABCD keypad not the normal qwerty ones

You haven't been watching enough TV apparently. Lava has come out with a phone with a full keyboard on it .... an ABCD keyboard.

A market study done in the key cities of India to understand usage pattern revealed that there is a large group of consumer who crave for a business class phones but are not comfortable in using the same. A further deep dive unfolded that these customers find the existing QWERTY keypad cumbersome to use and would be comfortable if the keys are arranged inn their own alphabetic order.

Why the :censored: did people take the time off to invent the QWERTY? Are we Indians that stupid ?

the purchase who wants to buy is not comfortable with purchasing online.

moreover.. he would rather wait 1 week here to buy in person than waiting for courier to show up :P

The M1410 looks interesting with a snapdragon processor and a 4.1 inch screen, responsive too on the video. Could be a decent buy if priced right.

Before making fun of Indians, you should know that English is not India's mother tongue. The market for this phone is people who have learned some basic "ABCD" english in school. If you see the keyboard from their viewpoint and "ABCD" keyboard makes sense.

Human Brain is capable of adapting to different keyboards. It's just a matter of time before one gets used a different keyboard format...Since it's a completely different format, they are using it as a key point for advertising.

Switching from a Alphanumeric to qwerty takes some time.. this is also similar

But each will have their own preference

Because in their dictionary simplicity means having to train your brain to another keypad layout.

There is no such thing as a universally easy to use keyboard layout. QWERTY is one of the few keyboard layouts that gained wide spread acceptance, but It does does not mean that everyone finds this layout convenient. There may be other key layouts that you find more easy to use. In fact there are many alternative layouts in existence. Ever heard of Dvorak or AZERTY or QWERTZ. They are also standard layouts that were used in Typewriters and Computer Keyboards. People are not stupid if they find some other layout faster than QWERTY.
