Saw the coverage of the event yesterday and it was nothing short of awesome. The show for the first time in the history of Spike VGA, displayed several segments of in-game locations and characters through virtual reality on the stage! Hulk Hogan, Charlie Sheen, Seth Green, Tony Hawk, Shigeru Miyamoto, Hideo Kojima and several others gave brief appearances during winner/world premiere announcements. It appears Kojima cannot converse in English and had a hard time when the announcement for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was due but the audience accepted it the way he was and gave him a good support by not mocking at it. A good watch all in all. Lasted 90 minutes.

Some of the world premieres gave me goosebumps!
 
^But this time the host specifically mentioned something in the lines of VR being used for the first time.
