Finally done with the SPITFIRE DAC-TEAK project
The design is not perfect but I made the best possible use of a 14yr old 1.5 inch thick teak slab i found in the attic. This is a Spitfire-DAC( not USB) from Firestone Audio http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2010/06/firestone-audio-spitfire-2496-dac/ , which was bought from one of my audio guru/mentor and fellow TE member @Oyster this month. Oyster had built a good sturdy plywood enclosure for the PCB, I just upgraded it to TEAK
The DAC has a slight warmish nature in its sound signature which I love, pairs well with the Transparent O2 amp, it doesnt have a usb input so i'm using the optical out from BehringerUCA202 as Digital to Digital interface to Spitfire & my PC. And this my first DIY audio related project and will be close to my heart! Hope you like the Pics
