Splinter Cell Conviction frame rate issues

My configuration is
AMD Athlon 2 240 @ Stock 2.8GHZ
2GB DDR2 800mhz
Ati 4650 1GB DDR3

The game auto detects my system with medium settings, and HDR and Reflections are checked. Anisotropic Filtering is at 4x. I've tried everything but there are moments in the game where the FPS just drops to bare minimum between 2-5.

I have update the game to 1.03 and my graphics drivers to 10.6, is anyone else also facing the problem ?

Is this just another example of a poorly coded game for PC ?
 
it shouldn't drop to 2-5fps. the game itself is pretty heavy though, so don't be surprised with framerates in the 30s or 40s. there was a problem with old catalyst drivers that dropped the framerate like crazy, but it was fixed with 10.4a or 10.3a or something... i don't expect that problem could have come back, but you should check the game's forums and see if anyone else is having trouble again with new drivers.
 
The game itself is very buggy. I had to go through a lot of frustration to get the game working. So i would suggest google for possible fixes.
 
same problem on

i7 920 6gb ddr3 ram and gtx285

the game starts well (with good fps )but after playing for time the fps goes down to 15 or less

FIRST I THOUGHT ITS PROBLEM BECAUSE OF USING 3D VISION DRIVERD BUT NOW EVERY ONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM SO

THERE IS SOME THING WRONG WITH THE PATCH

THE GAME WAS RUNNING FINE BEFORE THE PATCH

OR CAN BE PROBLEN WITH THE LATE LEVELS OF THE GAME

i7 920, 6GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 280.

The game starts well and within 2 mins starts hanging like hell!!!

Even with AA off.

I play in 1920*1080...
 
I played it @1920x1080 anti was x2 i get 30-40 fps when i am outside and when im inside like a house or a mansion i get 50-60fps,processor 9950@3ghz,mobo 780g,graphics hd 4870 1 gb @820/1120,the game doesnt work that good when im outside fight it shutters and very laggy,some wht like crysis warhead at enthusiast settings on my pc.

spindoctor is absolutely right !

I too was having the same problem, and played the game almost to 35% and came up with the new driver and that solved it all . I am at work, as soon as I reach home I will send you the url and then all of you can enjoy the game. Its awesome and plays really well on an old system as mine.

Okay here goes :

ATI Catalyst

I installed the game and had issues, then I pulled out the old drivers and installed the 10.4a Preview. The game played very well from there onwards.
