Hey guys do i have to play the earlier Splinter Cell series like Double Agent or chaos theory etc to understand the story of Conviction or

Is conviction a totally different story and has no connections with the previous games from the splinter cell series?

Actually I would recommend you playing this series as its awesome but you might not like the graphics play from chaos theory :)

Yes they are all related...
If you wanna play conviction you should read the background story atleast in wikipedia and then start playing Conviction, this will make your gameplay more interesting

sure

First Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

Second Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

Third Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Fourth Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Essentials - PSP only

Fifth Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Sixth Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction

/ I enjoyed Chaos Theory and Double Agent very much..never played psp version - this version is the continuation of Double Agent with some repeated (ps2) and additional missions.

i abandoned gamespot long time back-its better to check with user reviews..what i understand from all the reviews is that - the new game is good as a standalone game but it does not inheritate much from the original series

This game is brilliant. My first SC game on the PC (played DA on my cute ps2), and hate to say its brilliant, to all the hate i say go die, yeah its not as hardcore a game stealth-wise as older SC games, but hey those were insanely tough, this is sweet and awesome! guys you need to play this game!

Hmm.. I might just try this...

I wanted to save bucks for "The Orange Box" instead but let's see...

dude...better get Orange Box and you will never regret,as for SC:C , you can wait for letter to get it a bargain bin
