If i extend the refrigerant pipes of my 1.5 ton godrej split ac by 9feet, will the refrigerant also has to be topped up or will the ac work without extra refrigerant?

For a 9 feet extension, most likely yes - it depends on the existing length. There's usually enough refrigerant included in the system for 3~5m (10~16 ft).
In any case, your AC ODU will have the recommended refrigerant pressure written on it. Your installer will need to use pressure gauges to check and accordingly top up the right amount of gas.
