SQL Server problem.

Hi guys
My uncle is having a problem in his office and this is his question;
Hi, I got a SQL Enterprise manger, while taking arch backup on tape the backup failed and data files gone to SUSPECT mode. Can someone guide me to come out of the suspect mode.
following error message pops up when i try to run my application

"Could not establish connection
Description: Cannot open database requested
Native error 4060
Source microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL server
Sql State :42000"

i'm not very sure but most prob this would be caused by the original DB or in case of multiple DBs , some / part of / partial / complete DB is missing from its original path , it might have been moved / recreated in another folder. If not then need to check if proper read - write rights have been allowed in that particular folder to which the db admin uses's to take the backup. Check if account is locked / password expired...multiple possibilities....

Edit : Do check the event logs , they will clearly state why and what and where something is wrong.
