Hi guys,

I am planning to buy Samsung 830 64Gb drive from Richie street this weekend. My query is about power failures. I have a desktop(configuration given in sig)--Can this SSD withstand sudden power failures?? I dont have a UPS for the computer :( so need to know if sudden power failures can affect the drive in any form/kind.

Are you going to be using this system in Chennai?? Are you really sure you wanna run you PC without having a UPS, Chennai the power is still erratic, just curious enough to know where you are located in chennai if so no power cuts!
 
Mandaveli, it's so not bad!! there is only 2 hour scheduled power cut but yes sometimes there is unscheduled/unexpected power cuts of shorter duration.

I dont think most of the consumer drives would have any sort of protection. That would be enterprise level only.
 
Well not to worry, my laptop(whenever I buy it) will have a bad a$$ SSD. Thats the only way I can ensure there's no chance of sudden power failures. Thats another year or two away,,, :(
