with all the products out there and all the variety it is easy to get lost in between the lines.
just remember 2 things

1)firmware support is greater/more important than manufacturer
2)32nm flash > 25nm flash

ur most welcome to pm me if u need more help :)
Thanks. From what I've read through so far, Intel has one of the best firmware support for SSDs. Also Vertex 2 runs a tweaked firmware of SandForce 3.0.1 (d/t exclusivity), which makes it better than other SF-1200 drives out there.

If taken proper care practically any ssd is reliable , this unreliable tag is not something a first time users should be bothered , check the anandtech forum for ssd sticky thread in memory section and choose any drive that comes local to you . There is no need for online hassle , just my advice.
Hmm. Will check the Anandtech forum for more info. I'm mainly concerned because my lappy is on 24*7 !
Anyways, thanks for the advice. Much appreciated !

the older intel drives were the best out there. lately intel has been very slackly. google intel 8mb bug and u will see what i mean.

ocz does has a very very close tie-up with sf but again if you are going for a sata2 drive intel would be a better buy IMHO.

ps-i say u get the agility 3 from thunder.dragon :)

I say the same :P

So went through Anandtech + Tomshardware sites & forums and what I could make out is Intel/Crucial/Corsair are far better in terms of reliability than OCZ. And OCZ specially tends to have problems with new drives (I'm guessing the "3" series, like Agility 3, Vertex 3 etc.) whereas they older ones are better if updated to the latest firmware versions.

Samsung 470 seems to get only positive reviews but I haven't seen it in NP. Anybody knows any shop which has it ? Or for that matter any shop which has some technical know how & sells SSDs ?

So I'm down to 2:

1) OCZ Agility 3 - 60GB - from thunder.dragon - 5900/-

2) Intel 320 - 80GB - Amazon US - 150$ (Intel honors international warranty) + minimum 10$ for delivery + customs (if any).
