After buying a bunch of different stuff from different dealers, I've suddenly realized that Some of them ( you know who I'm talking about :P) have such innovative ways to display pricing info that they could put dominos to shame :P.

Would it be possible to have a standard pricing policy for products and deals posted on TE?

I'd prefer if the final price (inclusive of taxes, default shipping, insurance, other charges etc) were posted by everyone so that we could have an apples to apples comparison.

Thanks

Sorry if I am being naive... But I really don't understand what you are trying to emphasize here. :ashamed:

I never found anything innovative in any dealer's price. Unless you are trying to say that some just put up Price and shipping and nothing else... And what are the other charges??

Err a few dealers do actually have their prices as sale price + tax + shipping etc. I guess Greenhorn is suggesting that all the dealers provide an all inclusive price without any additional charges left for us to calculate. :).

I totally agree... Instead of any marketing gimmick & everybody to understand a standardized price structure should be mandatory so that clutter & confusion is avoided... Let the customers decide that the price ( All inclusive) is affordable to him or not...

This was discussed somewhere IINM. Not in a dedicated thread. Someone made up an excuse but it didn't make any sense at all.

So now i would like mods to have a all inclusive price suggested always. Or if that is not possible the product price + shipping. No tax etc should be mentioned separately, include that in product cost.

Good point there Greenie

Yeah go ahead and request dealers to post in that format, i.e. all inclusive price + shipping (since shipping varies by location)

most dealers do have a flat rate price, and even those who calculate seperately, appear to have a single rate for shipping irrespective of the location.

And I doubt they would, unless they had to, since this gives them an edge over the ones who post all inclusive prices.

Sorcy, even I recall this being discussed earlier, and to my regret now, I recall having argued on the other side ( didnt have any disposable income, and buying stuff online at that point was a rather distant thing then)

I see atleast 2 dealers having different shipping rates for different locations, so lets not lump that in as well.

Including tax is valid since it doesn't vary with the customer.

Let us know what you want the mods to do.

Or just go ahead and request the dealers to have prices incl. of tax.

allrightey, the shipping thing makes sense. all i need is for the way a product is priced to be consistent across dealers. Like you said, at this point price+tax is the closest we can get. Anyway this thread was to see if others wanted it too. If other peeps don't need it, then no need to bother

i agree final price should be listed

including all taxes , surcharges , VAT , fuel surcharges , shipping and what not...
