I am planning to start a website related to Web Development. Well, I will be posting content related to HTML5, CSS3, PHP and MySQL application development, Web Development for Mobiles using different frameworks. Maybe I will expand the website and will release some of my under constructipn PHP, MySQL applications (some free and Open souce, will ask for little money for some premium features on those applications)

Okay, basic aim for first several months is to post useful articles regarding all the technologies stated above. The website will contain Written articles as well as Video tutorials.

Which will be better platform to start my website?

I have following options in my mind -
1. Wordpress - have like 5+ years of experience on Wordpress, I am more comfortable with it. But will it suit for my needs?

2. Drupal - never used and have no idea about its features

3. Joomla - same as above
Another question -
I am looking for a hosting + domain. As I am going to use it for my Android projects, I will be having like 20k+ hits a day.

Any good hosting providers in your mind? Can pay like 3-3.3k/anum initially.
Bigrock.in schemes looks great and service is good too (my friend use it)

Need Your suggestions regarding website content and hosting provider suggestion will be helpful :)

do you have any live work experience in above technologies ? either freelancing or for a company ?

Not much but yes, I already worked for some clients from European countries. I didn't get any time to work as freelancer before but even then I had got very good clients (got paid some big money too :p, say like $5000/job. I love these European clients :yeah:) They contacted me in person via email (Thanks to my ROM thread on XDA ;) )

* wordpress is fine. why waste time in getting around drupal or joomla.
* have your domain separate from the hosting provider. for domain registration mitsu.in is good
* I cant find where these bigrock guys host their servers. any provider will give this basic info. if your visitors are worldwide you need not pay the premium to host in India.
* take a look here Shared Hosting Offers - Web Hosting Talk
* dont get into long term commitments (>3 months) later you can try a VPS if you want a lot of flexibility VPS Hosting Offers - Web Hosting Talk

As per BigRock Customer Executives told me, servers are located in USA (Should I be worried about SOPA/PIPA?),. Yes, visitors are from all over the world (Only 5-10% from India though).
As, servers are not located in India, I think it is good to go with Bigrock (Used Bigrock.com service for my friend and I found it good). I already have hosting space from GoDaddy (Why the hell I purchased it :X) but GoDaddy servers are ridiculously slow and their customer support sucks.

Well, thanks for giving me valuable information,

Blog : Wordpress

Hosting : Hostgator if you have more Indian visitors.

All the best !!
Thanks, I will find some Hostgator clients and hear some feedback of their service :)

don't go for BigRock. Go for hostgator, they are v good.

Cheaper solution : x10premium, my friend has 2 accounts over their for 3 years each. Its cheap ( if brought ) for 3 years and v good.

webhostportal is kinda cheap, currently using it, don't have any issues with it since a month, only problem is that their SSL are kinda costlier.

Ok, waking up this thread. I have enough time to work on this "Forbidden" project now. I need a good Hosting and Domain provider. Both should not be too costly. Looking for BigRock as a hosting provider. I am confused about which domain registrar I should go with.

I have had worst experience with GoDaddy so it is out of league anyway :)

Got a hosting plus domain on BigRock (got it for 40% off :p). I must say, Domain CP is much better than GoDaddy. Right now I can't comment on how efficient their service is. But they called me immediately when I opened a ticket about domain redirection issue (it was my mistake though :p). I am impressed so far :)

did you get it today?? I had got the coupon but it was valid only till 27th july.. any new coupon?

and do comment on how the server speeds are.
I might also go for bigrock when I get a god offer.
