Steam issue chronicles: Infinite validated 100% messages

After I reformatted, reinstall and got my steam backups in place, I am getting validated 100%....1 hour...still validating 100%. I waited, and it didnt work. So I re-installed with a clean install to see if its something else. It didnt work. Googled it and I wasn't alone. Unfortunatly no fix was given. Some ideas was given like deleted user account from steamapps folder but is of no avail. The account status is in good standing. I tried installing half life 2 using half life 2, half life 2: ep1 and the orange box cds. But the effort is turned to be futile. Did anyone here got any solution for that or a victim of that bug.

P.S.-I tried offline mode too but didnt work out.
 
well unfortunately there's no fix for that, have had the problem and couldn't fix it.

best thing you can do is copy all the .gcf files from you steamapps folder to somewhere else and uninstall all steam games and finally steam.

Then reinstall steam and copy all your .gcf files back into you steamapps folder and let the games update themselves
 
I had this problem with TF2. All I did was uninstall TF2 and then reload it from the backup I had taken it earlier. Started working fine after that.
 
Done all that!!! Didnt work...removed gary's mod and minerava mod as well. Its stupid that I cant play a game that I paid for.
