Steam Server Error

Don't know whether any of you are facing this issue but i was playing HL2 and when i exited the game, steam had finished updating something, and then it asked me to restart steam again but when i tried to login again it came up with the message "unable to connect to the steam servers". Is it only with me or are any of you facing the same issue?

steam just updated here, i restarted, no such issues here. Try restarting steam again after sometime.

It happens sometime when the steam servers are very busy...will resolve on its own..

I also got the same issue yesterday evening. It just said that it could not connect to the steam servers and showed me the login window continiously. I got fed up after a while and shut it off for the day.
