Choose it based on your ISP speeds and your average dowload data.

Seagate is good as it does not require you to plug another power source and has better RMA service than WD

Have you flashed it DD WRT? If yes, would advice on a HDD rather than the flash drive, as you will need ot install optware for transmission, and hence you will need a opt partition. This will be subject to a fair amount of read writes, so its not advisable to use a flash drive.

Also instead of going for the 1TB 3.5 incher, go for a 2TB, it will cost just ~ 1.2K more Also its better to use a drive with an external power source source as it will not draw more power from the USB port of the router.

Yes, flashed to DD WRT.Currently using 4Gb Kingston Pen Drive (512Mb & 3.5Gb)

Offtopic : Do I need to install pyload for http downloads ? Is it possible to download from sites like Megaupload, Rapidshare etc ? (torrents working fine)

I have Tech-Com 3.5-inch HDD Casing.

Can I use 80GB Non SATA Hard disk for downloading ?

Currently using 1TB WD External.

^^ You should be able to use any HDD casing as long as it 1. Supports the HDD you want to put inside it 2. Has USB2.0 support.

It depends on how you want to remove the data from the drive. I use Samba rather than FTP to remove the data as I felt it is easier. Also I did not notice much of a difference between the 2 in speeds, Samba ~5MBps, FTP ~6Mbps, so only ~1MBps diff. But i do not need to either switch off the router/disconnect the HDD from router.

If you remove the HDD and connect via USB to your computer, you will notice speeds of 20~30MBps. But bear in mind that you will have to stop your downloads.
