HDTune seems more suited for sector scans. For real-time SMART stats monitoring, tools like CrystalDiskInfo and Hard disk sentinel are better.^^ HDTUNE. Free.... Go for a full scan rather than a quick scan once....
It doesn't hurt getting a few prints of some of the memorable ones. Nowadays, prints have become pretty affordable especially for bulk prints. Some online sites do a good job delivering quality prints.
print outs are best option , i have an entire wall of prints , which keeps changing and a digital frame which keeps on changing , memories is all you get![]()
store pictures in google driveI have lot of pictures on my external HDD. There are some scattered around in couple of laptops and such. But since now we all tend to almost not print pics but rather just keep them on our HDDs, there is always a threat of the media failing / HDD crashing and causing loss of all the memories.
So what are the options you all people are using to store your pics / personal videos ?
Having multiple copies ? Multiple media ? Online ?
I am trying to find best possible ways to sort this on how to organize the pictures / personal family videos etc so as to avoid them getting lost due to media failure or similar catastrophes.
hot damn , flickr just dropped 1 tb ... awesome sauce
Yes it does . Yesterday or prior they had put restriction of 300 MB which they have now removed . Storing your pics in a 32 GB pendrive is a better idea as have seen two people who lost their stuff which was in HDD . HDD were in closets and upon checking after 6 odd months were found dead so ....I am also enticed by this. Mainly because apart from space, it has the ability to see the pics online and put in albums and all such stuff. And yes it is then accessible anywhere. So i might upload pics there but only after sorting them. Don't want to upload random GeeBees there.
Does Flickr allow videos too ?
Do they support http downloads or only ftpIf cloud or online is the option , Get the chicagovps.net VPS, with 100 GB space . Works as a seedbox and to download torrents with IDM from it , which you have been looking for . You can even share your data with family with ftp and username and passwords . 3TB per month good enough for normal use keeping the price in mind 190 bucks per month
