I am facing a weird network issue of late .
we connect to a server in Derry , and get some files off it on more or so a daily basis .
recently on a different machine , i am not able to search for specific files on that server , though i can traverse the directories and i can see those files there .
i can see that there are say 100 excel files saved but i search for *.xls , no results would be shown on a completed search query .
OS - win xp .
My colleage says that it works only on 1 single machine , which i find strange .
My IT dept is also curious as to why this is happening .
Any idea as to why is it so . any help would be appreciated .
