strange problem (HW + SW)

Hello ,
I have noticed that whenever I switch a chat room in yahoo messenger, there is a 'tick' sound from CPU. Like a relay switching. Anybody can guess what is this? Can this be the relay switching of CPu fan?

its not from speaker(neither onboard nor inbuilt). Will the CPU activity increases suddenly and as a result the CPU fan get boosted by a relay switch or something?
the sound is from Motherboard side I guess...:(
