Please help me solve these issues

-The dvi port of my sapphire 4670 is not working
i am using a dvi to vga converter to my crt screen
the pc boot normally but with black screeen, no screen even at post
there is some kind of white thing around dvi port

the vga port of the gpu is working (i wan't using this because the plate at the mounting hole of gpu does not fit if i use this)

-sometimes the gpu fan does not spin
and when this happen twenty percent of the time the pc boot with blank screen even with the vga port:S

is the warrenty of the gpu is valid??(cause i think the the above pic of the dvi port is physical damage)
can i RMA it??
and also, who handles the warranty of sapphire cards??

pc specs-
Athlon II x2 240
biostar ta785ge 128m
corsair vx450
seagate 500 gb hdd
kingston 2 gb 667mhz ram

Re: Strange problem

just to confirm have you done the moniter self test ?

just unplug the moniter from the card with it powerd on and see if u get a small box with colors moving across the screen or u get a no signal msg

the card appears to have been burnt, but still would confirm that the moniter is fine once before looking at the card as the soucrce of problem , also if u you could get a aspare card froma fried or anyone else to test it would be worth a shot to

yes, the monitor is working fine

the card appears to have been burnt

so this mean i can't rma it??:(

can i still use the card or should i remove it to prevent any further damage??

the card is working fine(except the dvi port)
i am currently using the vga port of the card

Re: Strange problem

Hi,

Never experiment with your card any more, more powering up may cause more damage to its components, take the saphire card to its ASP ( aditya infotech)and they will check the same for you.

Out of curiosity, how did you manage to burn the card?

i didn't do anything, i didn't even overclock it
my pc runs 24/7
temperature was around 33-37 idle
and 57-66 at load

what about the warranty??
it'll be valid or not??

Re: Strange problem

^ Take your card to the SC & explain them your scenario..

may be they'll repair it for free coz it's running fine but it's only a port problem..

Re: Strange problem

i have given it for rma

they will give me a new card in one week

but i didn't understand, what could have been the reason for the port to burn:S

i got my new card today
but this one have crosfire support and the memory is clocked at 1000mhz
compared to 873mhz on my previous one
