few days ago.. i had a strange problem.. my pc display had jerks like thing..like what used to happen in older tvs with voltage fluctation.. now jerking in display happened once or twice.. then two days later.. pc.. used to get shutdown after 1-2 min..... after research found that the CPU fan pin/slot not working( CPU fan was stopped, so CPU temp got high and shutdown pc) so connected the , CPU fan to Aux. fan pins.. nd its working.. now my doubtt is , connecting the CPU fan to aux pin/slot.. will it reduce the speed of the fan and ... my CPU temps.. also seems to be little high...(high 50 ties)..

thankz in advance..

imo cpu fan can be connevted to only one pin which is dedicated for that purpose and i really dont understand what you mean by aux pin which relates to audio function.

That pin will not have temperature control and in case if the cpu gets hot, the fan will work in the same speed and there will not be any attempt to bring down the temperature which causes the cpu to shutdown in case of cpu reaching abnormal temp. Levels...

afetr connecting the cpu fan to aux fan connector , the cpu fan is running .. but my question is ..will the fan run at its highest rpm or.. at lower?

Look have a nearly same problem so contact this forum and as per the member i am going to connect the fan to the 4 pin molex 12v rail. All the detail and in the bellow address. I think it is better to use the 4 pin molex than any case fan pin.

Go there and look at the reply no 22 and 30 by #[member='Crazy_Eddy'] on the 2nd page.

i hope that should help you some way.

I think cpu fan control and case fan control are different in some way.
