Hello people I just want to know whether Strontium JET 16 GB USB 3.0 is a good deal or not?
I have a budget of 600 bucks and looking for 16 GB USB 3.0 and I can only find this PD so will this be a good deal or should I stick with USB 2.0 because I have seen many people giving a negative comment regarding this PD so please help...

Go for any USB 2.0 device. They are cheaper & you get a higher capacity drive.

There is no big difference with a USB 3.0 pendrive.

but what about the pd i mentioned above?I dont think that there is no difference between 3.0 & 2.0,there is always a difference when you have USB 3.0 compatible Mobo which I own.So please think before commenting.that is why I asked whether the pd I mentioned is good enough as my budget is on lower side and this is the only option... If not please give a good and valid reason not to go for this pd...not like 2.0 & 3.0 have no difference!

There is a huge difference with USB 3.0, its called transfer speed.
A USB 3.0 drive is always better than a USB 2.0, though check for strontium's quality, if somebody has it.

The difference in transfer rates between USB 2.0 and 3.0 cant be denied. But the storage capacity of the device has to be kept in mind while deciding whether to go for 2.0 or 3.0. Do you regularly make huge backups. Not to mention, you can only backup upto 14.5 GB. If that is the case you can go for a USB 3.0 drive.

In my opinion if there are more negative reviews about this USB 3.0 drive, better invest in a good USB 2.0 drive. Because if its at least a 80GB or 160GB drive, it can be said that it will be time consuming. But since its just a 16GB drive , a 2.0 drive is good to go, provided you don't do frequent huge backups.

AFAIK, Kingston drives are trustworthy. But dont know about 3.0 drives, as i havent used one..

Hope you got the point..
