I installed DD-WRT on my WRT-54G2, and I am quite sick of it.

I want my original firmware back.

Googled and tried looking around. But I don't seem to find any solution.

What to do? How to get rid of it?

Are you sure you want to revert back?

Think about it...

The procedure is as follows:

Open the unit.

Solder a specialized connector onto the PCB

Order, buy and use a special cable to connect to this connector

Flash original firmware.

If you are pissed with ddwrt would recommend a try with tomato.

Have been using it for more than 2 years.

Nope thats plain rubbish, just download the latest tomato i.e. 1.24 i guess it just released today. You can download it from Tomato Firmware | polarcloud.com

And you can directly upgrade it from your dd-wrt to tomato. I dont think there should be any issues.

But will it work with WRT-54G2?? The website only says it works with 54G! :S

Thanks for the link btw!:)

no m8 u r screwed. wrt54g2 has too little flash memory (2mb) to support tomato. stick to the dd wrt project and keep trying builds as they come, else... buy a new one!

IMHO its not worth doing all that soldering and cable making to restore the unit to stock. u cant claim warranty after doing all that anyways.

Also in the older wrt54g we never had to solder or do anything to revert to stock, it was plain and easy.
