Been a few months since I bought my K800i. Joystick screwed(shocking, no ?). Phone malfunctioning. Alarm doesn't always ring properly.

The Camera's great though. Stuck with this for now. Will give it in for joystick repair. Do I reflash to resolve the software issue ?

i found that playing games screwed the joystick on my k750i till then no issues

anyways since then have had enough of joysticks :P

SE joysticks suck big time...thts why i steered clear of a joystick phone..same goes with Nokia...N73 has numerous issues with its joystick...check around this section, the joystick of one of the member's N73 just fell off...:P  I've learnt this the hard way myself...so always steer clear of all those models with joysticks..its the buggiest thing to ever brace mobile phones..

well, it all depends on the usage pattern, i havent had any problem with my N73, another friend has a K750i from a year almost, no joystick issues,

a friend even has a K790i, keeps it in the cover, no issues with the phone at all, still looks as good as new..

I find this quite confusing. Whats the point of keeping the phone looks as good as new if we are going to keep it in a cover. It will end up looking even more ugly. Defeats the whole purpose of keeping it as good as new if you cant flaunt it.

^^

Rightly said dood ..

U purchase the fone for urself .. and not for the person whom u intend to sell it to ..

Use ur purchase and flaunt it wid style.. maybe flaunt aint the correct word.. bt u deserve to use the device in the chic condition and get the feel of it .. .. afterall its ur money .

Using the devices in the cover and keeping the factory fitted films on it really reduces the fone's sheen ..

I'm not completely against using covers..there are pros and cons...the obvious pros are, well..your phone feels nice when there are no scratches and color chipping off it..look at a cell phone which has numerous scratches and color coming off the edges..damn, you wont even feel like holding it in ur hands..

Covers come in all shapes and sizes..i believe the best once are those tht let u protect ur phone as well as flaunt it when required..those belt pouches are the ones i'm talkin about..keep the phone covered when not in use and flaunt it when using it without making it look ugly..:)

get original SE covers, they look so damn nice and compliment your phone.... As for flaunting the phone , you dont carry it in your hand all the time... its in your pocket, where it gets scratched :P

If you are getting a phone worth 18k, better spend a couple of extra hundred and get a decent cover...

The joystick of my k790 lasted 3 months before it conked out. That is pretty impressive for a sony ericsson phone.
no problems with other functions though. If you are having problems you should visit service centre or try updating at home using seus

I've known abt the K750i joystick probs (infact I've mastered the art of fixing it :D ) but had never heard about any problem with the 790i joysticks ... I think reflashing or updating the fw via seus would resolve the malfunctioning and alarm issues. If it's still under warranty get it serviced at the service center.
