Subtitles in Divx, Xvid videos?

I would like to know how to view subtitles. Most of the videos that I download have a folder named Subs and that folder contains a rar file with the same name as the video.Should I extarct the contents of the rar file for the subtitles or should I leave it as it is.Also which software should I use to view the subtitles?

BS plyer or vlc player...or install vobsub if u prefer WMP, that' enable the subtitle options....

And yes, u need to xtract that srt/sub file

BsPlayer is gr8 for this.
Vobsub as suggested above if u prefer wmp.

use k-lite codec pack, nothing beats it in my personal opinion

Anyone having DivXs of US TV series MACGUYVER ? Have around 100 DivX movies including serials like FAWLTY TOWERS, THE WONDER YEARS, THE SIMPSONS. Will barter.
