I've got a Phillips 5106K player, and I want to have subs for a video file. I've got the subs file ending in .srt extension. What do I do now? Is there any way to merge them in (but with the option to turn it off/on) or do I just burn the two files together?

burn the two files together ( make sure they both have the same name ) ( 300.avi and 300.srt for example ). You can turn off subtitle anytime :)

FYI - after burning the SRT file, you wont actually see the SRT file listed separately when you lookup avi file list on TV. But that is OK, subtitle will work as intended.

It also depends on your divx player, I have a samsung which needs to have subs in the smi format, but also needs to have same file name and be in same root directory as movie file. Check out your manual for the divx player, it should tell you what you need.
