My Artis S5500r just gave up on me.
Looking for another 5.1 system.
Please suggest a good system fer arnd 8k.

hmm.. Altec Lansing's VS3251E isn't that bad for about 5k (or lesser).. They still don't have high-end 5.1 speakers (to the extent of my knowledge). But the VS3151E woofer is pretty good. It has catered (successfully if I may add) to the needs of my trance-maniac roommate so far. :D
 
You can also get Logitech X-540 for around 6.5-7k if you can find it in your area... the woofer is slightly bass heavy, it's slightly tighter and punchy at bass level set little below middle.
