Need ur advice on a 29" CRT and a 200-250 ltr refrigerator for one of my relatives. Wud avoid a Samsung TV as i've had bad experiences with that brand. So do mention the models and their approx prices if possible.

well if u do realy want a 29inch crts the either go for the sony trintron tvs or philips tvs.in sony all the 29inch tvs have the same picture quality only the audio is different.

One word of caution: Avoid slimline TV / UltraSlim TV / something like that.... These are nothing but traditional CRT TVs in which the CRT is designed in such a way that the depth of the TV is upto 40% less than the conventional TVs.. The problem is that, though they are space-saving, the technology is not fully developed, and they have many problems like colour patching, distortion and other geometry problems..!

About the refrigerator, please go thro one of my previous replies in this section (am lazy to search and put the link here.. :P ). I have given the link to a pdf file for the various energy efficiency stars for different makes.. Check for something that has a 5 star energy efficiency rating. Otherwise, brands are pretty much the same... you could settle for something that has better after sales service like LG or Godrej or Whirlpool..

P.S: Got the link I was referring to:

Get the philips 29 inch HD crt tv.Last time i checked it was ard 20k.Should cost less now. Although it's an HD panel even SD videos look great.

Thank u for all the replies guys.

@hp-india - Thank u for the link man!

@smoky004 - Hey buddy,i already have a Philips HD ready CRT tv which i bought a couple of yrs back which has gr8 video and build quality. But it looks like these HD ready CRT models are no longer listed on the Philips website. Anyways, this tv is for my aunt and it will be used mainly for watching regular tv most of the time and the occassional movie dvd....so i will probably suggest her to buy a regular Sony or a Philips tv as Samsung has very poor/cheap build quality as ive experienced it personally. Also wats the best price at the moment for a 32" LCD with decent performance? Maybe i can convince her to go for the LCD......

Finally, wats the advantage of going for a double door refrigerator over a single door one? My aunt for some reason wants a single door fridge.....pls share ur knowledge gurus....

well in current 32inch lcds samsung series 5 is good value for money, and if u plan to buy in the grey market it should be affordable.the sony KLV-32S400A should cost around 35k in the grey market its also a good choice for SD content since it has a 720p panel so less upscaling to do vs samsung 5 series which has a FHD 1080p panel.

and the advantage of a double door refrigerator is that when u want to acces something in the freezer then u can only open the door of that compartment, where in a regular one door when u want to access the freezer compartment u will have to open the entire door so the cool air will rush out which will mean harder work for the compressor which in turn higher power bill anyway this is just my theory.
