PC Peripherals Suggest a Desktop PC <20K

Hi! I need a Desktop PC for my internet based work. I need a decent configuration. PC should work at good speed.

Pentium IV 3.0 Ghz is enough
A good Motherboard
1 GB RAM 800 Mhz
80 GB HDD
DVD Writer
Headphone
If possible 15" LCD Monitor If not 17" CRT
A Keyboard & mouse
A Chasis With SMPS(PSU)
And a good UPS
No need of Graphic Card and Speakers.

Note: If anyone of u feel that the above configuration can't be within the above said budget, you can give ur configuration with best prices.
 
P4's are rubbish! Don't even consider it in present times unless the dealer gives it to you for free :lol:. Here's something to help you get started :

Processor: AMD Sempron LE 1100 - 1.5k / Intel Celeron 420 - 1.5k (You can get dual-core CPU's for 2.7k)

Motherboard: (AMD) Jetway M2A692 - 2.5k / (Intel) Jetway 945G chipset based board (not sure about the specific model) - 2.5k

RAM: 1GB DDR2 667MHz Transcend/ Kingston/ Corsair - 1k

Hard Drive: 80GB Seagate SATA - 1.9k (FYI 160GB costs just 2.2k)

Optical Drive: DVD Writer - Samsung SH-203b / LG H62n - 1.3k

Monitor: Samsung/LG/Viewsonic 15" LCD - 7.8k (17" LCDs are only a few hundreds more and make more sense)

Keyboard: Any keyboard Logitech/Samsung/MS - ~200

Mouse: Logitech value optical - 300 (dont forget a nice cloth mouse pad)

Chassis: Anything on display at the dealer/without the PSU - 800

PSU: Powersafe 400W - 1.5k

UPS: APC 500VA / (can look into Wipro too, since the APC 500VA has loads of cost cutting and it shows) - 2k

Headphone: depends on what you're looking for?

Total = 20.8k
 
AMD X2 4000+ or Intel E2160 = Rs 2.5 k to 3k

Asus M2AVM (AMD) or Intel DG31PR = Rs 3.2-3.4k

1GB DDR2 667= .9K (Kingston)

160 GB seagate 7200.10 HDD = 2K

19" Viewsonic 1912wb lcd = 8.6k or 17" 1703wm =7.6k

Logitech Combo = .7k

DVD RW Sony/LiteOn OEM =1.2K

Cabby + Bundld SMPS = 1-1.2K

UPS (Any local brand 600)VA= 1.5K

About 20-21K

This is the least you shouls get these days

Remember one thing...

15" LCDs are rubbish and 17" widescreen doesnt look good. Its the 19" widescreen that hits the sweetspot these days...try to accomodate that at any cost.

And at your budget you are better with AMD system . The mobo I mentioned is geared towords ultimate upgradability (at least in budget configs) but you can get good mobos with full vista aero support for as little as 2.5k...so you may consider them also

Thirdly dont buy DDR800 now..they costs 300-400 more with less than 5% performance gain.Prices will be lowered in coming days but right now ddr 800 makes no sense ..at least for budget systems

Do u think AMD sempron or Intel celeron(These are less than 2.0 ghz) works faster or better than Intel p4 3.0 Ghz

Up to my knowledge Viewsonic's after sales is very bad. So i am getting suggested not to go viewsonic...

Whats ur view about viewsonic???
 
Nac my E2140 @ stock 1.6GHz beats ma P4 OCed @ 3.8GHz by huge margin, its all abt architechture. Celeron 4XX and Pentium E2XXX series is core 2 duo with less L2 cache, and no Virtualization Technology. and think abt heat and power consumption man. P4 is dead. :)

AMD Sempron LE 1100 will not be able to beat p4 3.0 ghz processor ( would it ? ) . You are better off with intel e2xxx series , they are way better :)

Absolutely true !!! VS has the worst in the world ASS in India. But if you choose models based on user feedback that has none to very little problem..you just might never has to face that.

Anyway..to be on the safe side samsung has better ASS and dell has the best. But compared to viewsonic both costs a lot. You wont get samsung 19" incher bellow 9.5k and a dell bellow 10k...so the price difference is significant

I had VX1932 which I rmad with VG1930...Since then its working flawlessly !
Its completely your choice now..
