suggest a digicam : budget 13-16k

hi all
my brother wants to buy a digicam. budget is the above mentioned.

i suggested the canon 720is, the sony w series models. He wwent to a shop yesterday and saw the sony h10, and is saying he just got the feel of the cam. thats a budget slr right? so i got one more option for him the canon powershot sx100is. I keep on suggestng the canons, as i love my own a550.

Anyways since i dont have much idea about the high end models i decided to ask u guys(my HTPC query still remains unanswered though :( , even after 80 odd views). and how is the canon Tx1..feautres seem impressive..HD video..10x optical zoom etc.
 
panasonic tz5/15 ....recently bought it ...and its awsome

if u like the canon tx1 then you will love the panny...it has a 10x zoom in a similarly compact body and hd recording the advantages over tx1 are wide angle ...easy to use( tx1 is very unusually shaped ) and excellent Leica lens
