PC Peripherals Suggest a GFX Card + Sound Card

Hello,

I wish to buy a new GFX card along with an Audio Card. I have been moving along with the onboard card on my MoBo uptil now.. but not any more.

The MoBo I am talking about is an ASUS M2N-MX SE. Will it have enough slots for these two cards?

And, my approx. budget for the 2 combined is ~Rs 6.5K..

I know it is less, but then, so is my use.. ;)

I have these specifications..

TV - SAMSUNG LCD 32''

MOBO - ASUS M2N-MX SE

SPEAKERS - Creative Inspire 5.1 5200

RESOLUTION - 1366x768

Will these cards run on a 400-450W SMPS?

And, this config has 2GB RAM. Will it be sufficient for playing games like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Wolverine, Burnout Paradise, NFS Undercover.. ?

Waiting for help.. :)

:O , hmmmmm.

for graphics card and sound card under that budget,

512MB ATI HD 4670 -> I heard it is available for as low as 4k now.

You can get an entry level sound card in 1-2k.

or, you can get a 9800GT for 5.5k and an entry level sound card for 1k. :)

if u want to run on generic smps then get 9600GT + audigy value . should run fine on 450w psu with 20amps rated . and yes 9600gt will run most above games on max settings . 2gb will run fine but can get a bit laggy on some new games .

Not for him. Except GTA4, you can play every game with 2GB. At least I did and that too with highest setting.

P.S. - In CRYSIS DX10, there is a bug/memory leak in reckoning level that is why 2GB lags there. Playing that level in DX9 mode runs fine. :)

which speakers/ headphones u will use ? normal cheap ones wont give much quality difference with sound card . if u want sound card just for audio effects , try realtek X-fi driver mod - Realtek R2.16 X-Fi mod driver

Thanks, that was real good.

if the Samsung 32" is HDMI, better get a ATI card with HDMI which has the audio along with the HDMI rather than getting the nvidia.

yeah, the 4670 has all the four types of ports i.e. 1. HDMI 2. VGA 3. DVI 4. Display

At least the Palit Super edition of my friend has.

Okay.. with the audio card I guess the only available one is Creative Audigy.

With the video card, which one should i get... 9600GT or 4670? Does 9600GT have HDMI too? Performance wise, which one is better?

^^ Not worth it, just a minor speed bump, at 1k price increase. Also if you have a generic PSU, I would recommend getting a 4670, as it consumes less power.

I went and saw in a local shop (actually my bro did :p) and he said that...

1. He didn't have the Creative Audigy sound card (1750/-), but he did have the SoundBlaster (1200-1400~). Should I buy that one? How big is the diff. between the both? And he said that a sound card makes a huge diff.

2. He didnt have the 4750, but he had the Sapphire 4650, for around 4200 bucks. Should I get that one?

SB live 5.1~almost crap for music...........yes there is difference in games and a very marginal improvement in music. Period. Go for audigy 7.1, Xtreme Muzic, Gamer/Xonar Dx minimum for a good differenc between onboard and dedicated.

SB live 5.1 not worth........If u still wanna buy tht its 999rs on ebay(new)

2.HD 4670 is 4k :hap5:
