I am looking for a good and easy to use DVD making software. I have tried Nero vision/recode and WinDVD Creator. Nero was perfect for my needs, but for mysterious reasons, it kept giving an error during the final DVD creation. I checked around, and found this error is quite common and doesn't have any satisfactory solution.
So, I tried WinDVD. While not as feature rich as nero, it seemed to do the job, but with 2 problems - There was a considerable audio lag, and it took too much time in transcoding, even when the source files were vobs from a DVD handycam.
So, guess I need something else now. These are the features I need -
1. Easy to use. Don't need any advanced features.
2. Should be able to edit the clips.
3. Proper automatic scene detection (windvd doesn't do this)
4. Easily define chapters.
5. Generate a nice menu.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried DVD Shrink? I found it quote useful when converting DVD9 to DVD5. It can directly burn using Nero or create a ISO image which you can then burn using any DVD burner.

If you want to create DVD's from movies (divx, avi, mp4 etc) that you already have on your hard disk then look no further than ConvertxtoDVD. Its the best.

I've settled down with Sony DVD Architect. It is actually a full fledged software, with all the features to make even proffesional DVDs, but it is quite easy to use, with a very short learning curve. :D Used along with Sony Vegas, it is a perfect package for turning your videos into DVDs.
