Do you have any specific requirements? If you simply want to use it for reheating food (which btw is what happens 95% of times), simply get the solo microwave (rs 3-5k) without grill/convection features. If you ask the difference, all would say grill is for making tikka's etc and convection is for baking.
We have tried making, tikka, pizza, etc, they all are done better on the gas + tawa only. Making all this in microwave was a messy and time consuming experience for us.
we have Samsung CE73JD (21litres) bought a month back for Rs 8,800. Overall happy with it and absolutely no compains. however mom feels we should have gone for LG, based on some cookery classes she attended.
The model we bought has 5 yrs warranty on cavity, hence we went for it. it has a ceramic cavity. LG has stainless sleel one, which is better for cooking.
Thanks for your suggestions... Any specific model you guys would like to suggest under 10k...
@malique
Valid point... But my family members would use microwave oven for several purposes like making pizzas and cakes etc etc... And my mentality is that "If you are buying a thing then it should be good and featurerich otherwise dont buy it".. So thats why i am looking to buy a convection microwave oven...
@Hades, even i am of the same opinion, and hence bought a convection. but as i mentioned earlier, we found making tikkas (grill function) & pizza a messy and time consuming affair. 1 pizza taking good 15+ mins, where as on gas its done in under 10 mins that to 2 in parallel on 2 burners.
and remember electicity is expensive than gas.
We have the samsung CE73JD and pretty happy with it. and we chose it becuase of the 5 yr warranty on cavity. most of the brands have only 1 yr warranty. Go for LG/Panasonic, as it has stainless cavity which helps cooking faster.
Bought Panasonic NN-CT641M Microwave Oven For Rs.9990 From Croma... Its 27Ltr oven and is total value for money... I had shortlisted three microwave ovens.. One was Samsung's oven and one was LG's... Dont remember the model numbers... Chose Panasonic oven over the other two because it was more feature rich as compared to Samsung and LG ovens and had heating tubes for heating the food both from the upper side aswell as from the back which both Samsung and LG ovens didnt have... Plus the Panasonic model that i have bought has more preset options to cook various food then the LG and Samsung ovens... I am pretty happy after buying it... The only thing that i didn't like about this oven is that it makes a bit noise (its written in the manual too
)... its a very small issue to ignore buying such a great oven...
I boughtSamsung GE109MDST from the local market for 9K yesterday. It is a grill microwave though. I found it good and it came with the hotplate, grill stand, etc.
OT: Could someone enlighten me with what exactly is so special about convection microwaves? (the one I have has convection + grill, but it cheaper than just convection ones)
