There aren't any good options left for op.
If you can get a g620/g630 with a 3k cheap mobo then it would be a better option.
Budget can also be increased if you sell your mobo

It'd be better if OP somehow gets Phenom X4 955BE or 965 as they overclock better besides there is not much use of six cores anyway.

This option is better. But then hard to find phenom 2 these days

you could have atleast checked up for you CPU Support before you made the leap. Though no new stock of X4 and X6 are hard to come by, you could have got a used procy at that budget. I have not hear proccy going bad, though correct me if im wrong
