suggest a good video player

Hi all.
I recently bought a dell laptop with windows 7. i installed VLC player on it but i am unable to view the video & i just hear the audio. kindly suggest me a good alternative.

Typically Vlc is able to play most formats, let us know the extension of the file.
 
VLC Players plays most formats without any hassle. What is the extension of the video file that you are trying to play? Anyways you can try KMPlayer.
 
use zoom player 6, simple & nice, I have'nt used any other since i started using this.... love the scroll fast forward feature in it....

& it downloads all the necessary codecs itself.... thru the download center

dont unnecessary install codec packs, with most codec having no use junking up your system.....
 
GOM player used to be my fav, it is free and needed no other codecs. However recently seen it skipping n looking for codecs at times. However moved to KM Player. Its cleaner, needs no codecs, free, and files which use to skip or hang etc in GOM is also easily play.
