I also want to buy a Power supply.(less than2.5k)

Welcome to the forum and Happy New Year to you too. :)

I'd reckon MSI/Sapphire HD6790 ~ 8.4k with FSP Saga II 500W. HD6790 is faster than any of your listed choices.

indeed....6790 is d best buy at that price.....if u favour nvidia go for the gtx 550. nvidia has cuda and physx which help in some games and drivers are a tad better... both cards would suffice u for ur gaming needs though....

the 6790 is equal to the 550Ti but at a lesser price.. my advice would be to get a 6850-9k.. much better than either the 6790 or 550Ti.. also if you wait till this month end maybe the 6850 prices may drop once 7970 hits india:)

Hi all thanks for all your help.I have increased my budget and now stuck between these two cards:-

1- MSI r6850 PE/OC gddr5 (total cost :- rs 10,000)

2-HIS 6870 IceQ X (total cost :- rs 11,400)

Which one should i opt??

Please provide your suggestion as soon as possible.I want to make my purchase soon.

It'd be better if you wait for HD78XX series to settle down which will happen in few months, you've waited for this long wait for another month,HD7XXX series is worth waiting for and of cours HIS 6870 IceQ X-11.5k is better than HD6850.

Hii "thegatekeeper",

I can wait for a month max not more than that.

Don't you think that the 78XX is going to be more costly when it is going to be release.

If it released in feb then the cut in price of 78XX series would take more 4-5 months .

One thing can happen in my favor if i wait one more month i.e. if 78xx series release in feb, then there should be a fall in price of 6850 and 6870.

Yup,in any way it's advantage for you.

Ganesh_2218, get the facts right.

Tessellation is a DX11 feature, and all DX 11 cards inspite of the AMD/NVIDIA branding can do that.

OP, you can wait for the AMD 7000 series, but I would suggest you to go ahead and buy the HIS 6870.

Hii Zloyd ,Don't you think 6870 will bottleneck my CPU ,if i try to overclock it or even without overclocking.

I have gone through some threads and websites on internet and found that a heavy card is not suggested for a dual core Processor as it can bottleneck other pc components.I am going to play battlefield, anno, gta 4,call of duty 4,crysis 2,far cry 3,nfs the run, fifa 12,and some more that i like.So it is good for me to opt a 6870??

the next problem that i am going to face is of heat ventilation. My cabby has onle one rear fan of 80 mm and i don't think so that it can pull up all the heat of the card +PSU(of 600 watt which is top mounted)+other system components and thereby make my system hot very easily.

SO Can i open a new thread for cabinet related query or should i continue in this one??

i have seen that when we talk several things in one thread ,then people stop responding to that thread. So should i open a new one??

Please reply guys.

Nope you have a good cpu dont worry about cpu bottleneck at all. Some games would see better performance with an i5 and with better cpu speed but really dont think about it those games are few and if you look around the net and see how your i3 stacks up to i7's with regards to gaming you will see for yourself you have nothing to worry about.

Get a decent psu TX650 is the minimum I would personally recommend because it has a long warranty on it and you can happily xfire your card or even in the future run something like a 580 off it. If TX650 is out of your budget and most likely it is and you dont plan on a very powerful gpu in the next couple of years then get a VX550 or the like.

I would not recommend Corsair GS series they somehow come across as not being as bulletproof like VX/TX/HX series.

I think this will be ideal for you http://www.corsair.com/power-supply...tt-high-performance-modular-power-supply.html

Seems its a replacement for the VX550 it has good specs on it I say get it. But again Corsair PSU's are expensive and very high quality if this is out of your budget FSP Saga 500 something is there I am not familiar with that PSU and what its price will be but it should be almost half the price of the TX550 I have linked.

If op wants a 500w psu then Seasonic s12ii 520w-3.6k OR Corsair VX550w-4.5k are the options,If op's gonna get gpu above hd6870 then Seasonic s12ii 620w-4.6k OR Corsair TX650V2-5.2k would be enough, hope this clears the things.

Yes but to have a little headspace and for overclocking since Seasonic s12ii 620w psu is at equal price as VX550w it's better to go for S12ii 620w.
Corsair VX550 will pull even 6950 with no issues. Just checked AMD's site and they recommed a 500w PSU for 6950.

Hii Guys, thanks for your Support.I have already decided to go for Seasonic s12 620 watt ,it has a 5 year warrenty.

This is a very good power supply and can handle high end GPUs with ease.

I have dropped my plan to buy the GPU in January and i am also doesn't have a plan to buy it even in FEB,Going to Buy it in March or April's 1st Week.

I am going to buy Seasonic s12 620 watts for Rs 4750 from the it wares. The tx 650 will cost me around 5.7 k ,which is approxiametly rs 1k more.I have already pulled 2k more for the better power supply i can't go for more than that.

Thanks once again "Zloyd" for clarifying my doubt about the GPU.

But i also have some budget problems that's why i postponed the idea.

One more reason is that "after some research for Gpus ,I have found custom cooled versions are better than the reference one and they also run quiter.I always wanted to have a quite CPU and then i decided that i will buy a Cyclone or Twin Forzer or IceQ editions of the cards.

For 6850 only MSI r6850 cyclone is a candidate as 6850 iceq is not listed on any indian online waebsite and it is also not available anywhere.Another is 6870 twin frozer but it priced 12k or more than that and iceq of 6870 now costs 12,450 rs on Theitwares.

If you see availability of cyclone ,twin frozer or iceq card of 6850 or 6870,please provide a link to buy it. I will buy it as soon as possible.
