Laptops Suggest a lappy ...newtoworld.

Need a *fairly* good enough lappy for my educational purposes..my desktop is there for my other works,games...etc.

Just need a cheap lappy now..

somethings in the line of say athlon 2ghz?...some 512/1gb memory .. a gpu good enough to play cs 1.6 .. lol! . . --> would be a +plus .
80/120gb hdd

& the regular stuff....tv out , wifi , etcetc.

How much would it cost..are there new athlons still available ? ..

I woudnt mind picking a used lappy either..

any bangalore sellers ?..

need it prolly by ~1-2 week.

budget : as cheap as possible....but then again..the thing shd be kinda reliable..

look at the compaq/acer amd turionX2 based systems.30-35k good deals usually with 160 Gb hdds, 1 Gb RAM etc....

No Athlkons for lappies...

you choices are limited to Intel Core 2 Duo/Core Duo/Dual Core (A core duo with 1 MB of L2 cache vs 2 MB on core duo)

or AMD Turion X2 TL/TK/ML

or Intel Celeron M 5/6xx (the new Celeron Ms are core duos with 1 core disabled)

you should be able to get celeron M based machines from Acer/Compaq for 20-24K and Turion/Core duo/dual core ased setup from 27-35K

^budget is like 30k . . . . maybe a wheeee bit stretch not more..

a AMD system shd save me some dough!

Check out Acer laptops..they are pretty cheap and their configs too arent that bad..
