Suggest a less than or equal to 32" VFM LCD TV

My fiancee needs to buy a new TV as the current one has almost stopped working. They currently have a 21" CRT TV and hence will need anything less than or equal to 32" if it is reasonably priced.
Full HD is not a priority as the TV will be used only for normal TV viewing using tata sky connection.
Brand is not an issue, VFM is important.

Please suggest which to go for and from where to buy in Mumbai ?
Preference is less than 32" TV but if a 32" one is reasonably priced then no issue.
 
whats the budget. Samsung C530 for around 34k and if they don't mind grey or ebay.in the Sony EX400 around 29k.
 
^^ I have asked to get the budget but expect something below 25k for sure. Grey will not be preferred by them so that option is ruled out. If i end up getting a grey piece and something goes wrong in first year, i would feel bad :P

I checked on compareindia and there are indeed many models ranging from 22" to 26" available less than 25k i guess.

As i said, that the TV will be used for only normal day to day TV viewing and i guess HD content may never be used, that's why even full HD is not a priority.

Also how are brands like Vu, sansui, panasonic ? Should those be considered. But i think they will prefer a more know brand like samsung, lg, sony etc so will look at those options only.

Diwali is round the corner but i dont much expect deals on this smaller sized LCDs but still have told her to wait till diwali.
 
Please avoid tvs like 26" inches.
If the budget is low have a look at samsung C450 is also good.
Philips had some clearance sales on tvs like 5605 and 5405 they are also quite good for SD .

Yes for two reasons,one the panels used in 26" are from 2nd tier lcd manufactures.Even Sony doesn't uses 26" panels from their S-LCD korea or Sony-sharp coroprtion japan in some models.
Secondly 26" lcd in 16:9 ratio want be much of a upgrade from a 21" 4:3 CRT.since the height of the screen of both the tvs sizes are around 12" and the CRT frame and bezel will make it look larger.
 
Ok so the brand we have drilled down to is LG as they have sub 25k 32" LCD TVs. The budget is max 25k so please suggest something in proper bill / warranty below or upto this and not above.

Which 32" LG LCD TV currently available in market would be a good VFM product?
 
The three models that have been finalized are..

LG 32LD460 - Jazz series 1080p

LG 32LD550 - I guess this more than 30k price

LG 32LD340

LG-32LF20FR - 1080p - about 28k

Please suggest me from above models as which one should we opt for ?

^ Toshiba 32AV700 is available in Delhi for around Rs 20.5k. Form what I've heard from a friend who bought it, it seems like a very decent buy. Personally, I'm looking at a Sony 32BX300 from Ghaffar Market in Delhi for around 23k. Anybody knows the best prices/ dealers in Ghaffar Market?
