Well I am done with the Jetway. I will be sending it for RMA again the third time but this time I am not planning to wait for the RMAed board to arrive. I am planning to send some moolah on a decent board.

What I am looking for :

1. Stable board with solid caps and decent oc headroom.

2. Should have DDr2 RAM slots, I don't have enough moolah to spend in DDr3 atm.

3. Non IGP board.

4. Should have good replacement policy incase of kaput board. Am done with the likes of Rashi.

Don't want anything fancy, just a replacement for the 790GX that I have.

Please do suggest anything that fits under 5k.

Regards

Fitting in a non-IGP board will be hard in your budget Sir, the Gigabyte GA-785GM-US2H is the only board that fits your bill (problem is it doesn't have all solid caps) GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM2+ - GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 3.3) -- either this or you can sift through the Member's Market to check for a better deal, hope this helps OR maybe this one Sir GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM2+ - GA-MA790X-UD4P (rev. 1.0) although never I saw this in the market since maybe a year now.

Last time pricing was GA-785GM-US2H -- 3.5K (from CTC, Hyderabad)

GA-MA790X-UD4P -- 7K (from S.P. Road Bangalore)

DDR3 RAMs are dead cheap these days!! If you have value DDRII RAM then you can sell if off for 1.8k-2k(2*2GB. Market price is ~2.7k) and get brand new Corsair Value DDR3 for 2.1k(2*2GB)

This would give you loads of options instead of very limited DDR2 based mobos in the market.

Am looking for ATX form factor. Full featured board :P
LOL dude , full featured :P sounds like a misnomer @ 5 grand.
I think the DDR2 compatibility is going to be the problem , unless you take DA's advise , switch to DDR3 modules

Then you could expand your choices. I still think the 880GM/A will be the best pick among the lot since there arent many which can offer the same feature set (Even with the IGP) - Also - The 880GM's sellability will be better than that of the 785 Chipset board imo. Since you are going to get your jetway back.

Shashwat sell those DDR2 sticks and invest in DDR3. DDR3 is here to stay for sometime now. And if those DDR2 sticks have local warranty it will easily find takers at a good price. I had sold my Pi Black 2x2GB kit for a decent price considering it was purchased via the KMD route.

^^Yea, it still has warranty around 1 year. Will end up selling those if no viable option is there.

Plus I don't want to spend in el chaepo sticks this time. Will probably ask Pheonix for some Mushkins :P

Then please suggest with DDr3 in mind :)

^Well avoid Mushkin RAM sticks. I don't own a pair anyway but recently Soulfire has picked up a kit and it failed to work due to some compatibility issues. Will dig up the thread and post it here.

The Corsair XMS3 sticks rated at 1600MHz CL9 seems to be one of the better ones. I am either picking up one of those or the Ripjaws from G.Skill for the SB setup.

Ok heres an update. Got my Jetway Ha07 replaced by Asus M4A88T-M ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS M4A88T-M

Now the issue is the Mb is mini-itx and doesn't have enough fan headers for my CPU> What should I do now ? Sell it ? Is there a way I can plug in all the fans because the mb seems decent to me except for the lack of fan headers. ?

Also please suggest me a good DD3 4gb kit (around 3-4k )

Regards

Mini ITX? The board looks like it is m-ATX to me.

Why are fan headers a concern btw? There is a CPU fan header and a separate chassis fan header. For the rest, simply plug them directly to the PSU with the proper molex to 3pin converters.

it does have seprate fan headers,

but here you will again deal with great rashi peripherals.

i suggest you get rid of any asus stuff and switch over to non rashi guys.

thats what i have decided.

i also have very bitter exp.with rashi.

i wont be buying anything which is supported by morons of rashi.

Oops :P Maybe am getting old with hardware stuff :P Will get some molex to 3pin connector.

Planning to use this board, will end up selling all the stuff depending on Llano or Bulldozer performance.

BTW which ram should I go for ? XMS3 then ?
Edit : XMS3
This one looks good. My MB supports modules uptop 1800+ OC and 1600/1333 . This one should work without any problem. Any idea of pricing and availability ?

Forgot to type CL9 :P

Well in most places 4gb 1600Mhz CL9 kit is selling for 2700 and 8gb 1600Mhz CL9 kit for 5400... I dont know where you stay so cant comment on the availability and pricing :)

Edit: just found that prime abgb is selling Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL9 1x4GB for 2425... IMO grab it if you don't care much about fancy looking heatsink and if you are using stock HSF...
