nVidia is not releasin 7600 as i heard. Ofcourse no 7800 Ultra

Wait for the r520 Launch. and go for the cheapest out of them.
Or wait for the 7800 GT prices to drop to around 250.

Yeah wait for 7800GT prices to drop or I think that a 7800 plain may also be released soon...

@ Chaos yep the X800 GT is based on the R480, but wont the 8 pipelines be a bottleneck in that case. X800 has 12 pipelines. At stock speeds I think an X800 must have an advantage.

OK, havent seen a direct comparisions between the 2 anywhere. Also there is an X800 pro for 250$, personally I feel X800XL at 270$ is a better deal.

256MB GDDR3 X800GT for $162 shipped from newegg;thats the best deal IMHO.But guess should wait for the R5XX derivatives and NV's reply to those.

The X800GT trounces the X800 at stock in almost everything;with a decent OC,it should be even better.

The R5XX launch is in October and given ATi's recent history of paper launches,it will be atleast 2-3 months b4 newegg has decent R5XX parts for $200 whereabouts,so I guess I will order it in a day or two.

^^I have a feeling ATI has to deliver this time or else it won't last too long in the market. Paper launches won't help. BTW r u seriously getting an X800GT? :O

The price on the Powercolor went up by $6-damn!Now I am considering a $179-$9 coupon =$170 X800 pro from Ati,its a refurb but its direclty from Ati and has a three year warranty so it should be good, right?

But ATi is offering a $14 delivery only which is expensive and puts it at $184 total, including tax.Should I go for it?

BTW,I used the code 1010,anyone know of better coupons?

Isn't that AGP only? I'm not exactly sure :S/

Well i too agree with you guys, waiting for R520 launch is better BUT what then ? even if the R515 is dirt cheap and performs amazingly, what about its availability ??

Will it be easily available as the 7800GTX was ??

We are all aware of the X800,X700 fiasco...

The ATi's r5** are gonna be a nightmare to get.
You will have to order it from ATi and hope that you get it in 1 - 2 weeks time.

Its gonna be same as the x700/x800 problems. ATi just doesnt manufacture enough.
Id say go for nVidia 7800 GT when its prices drop. That will be when the r5** release ofcourse.
